In my post title, “Be Free”, I talked about how we are all our very own prisoners. Being a prisoner myself, I felt what I wrote, needs to be taken a bit further. I have been able to achieve few things over the time, but there is much more that needs to be done.
So, what’s the worst fear that is stopping us? In my opinion, that is “letting go of the norm.”
We become so used to giving people the sort of behavior that they always expect from us that we fear that if we will diverge from our normal expected behaviors and routine, people will have a strong reaction. Sometimes, we, in our minds, build up that people around us really care what we do. People do care what we do, but not to the extent we think they do! Fine, there are few lines we dare not cross because we know it will have strong repercussions, however, many other times, there are things which affect only us, matters to only us, yet we are scared to break our norms, thinking, “what people might think?”
So, the foremost thing which we need to realize is, “People don’t care what we do, as much as we think they do”. We need to get down from our high pedestal and realize that not every action of ours is important to the rest of world as much as it is important to us. We are not that important.
So realize what’s important to you, break free and “Let go of the norm”.
