We all have perception of how things would be and then we have the reality which stares in our face. This results in the collision of our two worlds, our perception and the reality. Sometimes, to withstand the reality, we try to blur the lines between whats real and whats imaginary. We try to create our new perception of things. It can be a little less ambitious than our earlier perception. We try to create a new world around us by blurring those two lines. We allow ourselves to do thing by losing ourselves in beautiful things around us like music and visuals, and imagine our selves relishing in our own created worlds and dream and dwell in them to with stand the reality.
The backbone of how this system works is our imagination, which allows us to escape the clash of of our perception and the reality which stares at us. The gift of imagination is perhaps the greatest gift that God Almighty has bestowed upon us. Some lose themselves in what "could have been" would have felt like, some take refuge in religion imagining how it would be like to stroll in the beautiful gardens of heaven with beauty all around them, others imagine themselves in a whole different setting where they have created escapes by dwelling into imaginations created inspired from beautiful things around them.
We, the human race, have been wired to survive. Man is capable of surviving through the worse of worse and still smile. We survive by hoping, hope which is basically imagination of what would be and what could be. We create new perceptions about future, about ourselves, about our surrounding. Our imaginations keep us going. There is a famous that saying that "All is lost, when hope is lost." However, what I say is, "All is lost, when we stop to imagine!"
